My new upcoming book on Pete Browning

 

Thrilled to be working on a new book for the University Press of Kentucky on 19th Century baseball slugger and legend Pete Browning. Pete ended his career with a .341career average and 3 batting titles in two leagues, and was one of the game's most dominant players in the 1880s. He was also one of its most colorful. A legendary boozer who even when he was half-drunk was twice as good as most of his peers.

December 6th 2019 sees the release of Lee Perry's Heavy Rain, the dub companion to the critically-acclaimed Rainford album which came out in June 2019. On Heavy Rain, the Upsetter and co-producer Adrian Sherwood have produced a radical bass heavy re-version of the original tapes with a host of guest musicians including Brian Eno and Vin Gordon.
